One of the first things people notice is your smile – a beautiful smile can brighten your life every day, professionally and socially. Bleaching

Even the most dazzling smiles can gradually fade over time. Smoking or drinking coffee, soda, tea or red wine can also darken or discolor your teeth. Fortunately, our practice offers a number of at-home whitening treatments to give you a noticeably whiter, brighter smile.

Bonding

A simple procedure that can be completed in a single visit, dental bonding involves applying a strong, tooth-colored material to the surface of teeth that are chipped, cracked or stained. Dental bonding can also be used to fill in gaps between teeth.

Veneers

Like dental bonding, dental veneers are used to improve the appearance of teeth that are crooked, chipped, broken, misshapen, discolored or unevenly spaced. Less prone to staining from tea, coffee or smoking, they provide a long-lasting, natural look. Dental veneers don’t cover the entire tooth the way a crown does. A custom-made porcelain shell that is very thin but extremely durable, it’s cemented to the front of the tooth. These can be made on site using CAD/CAM technology, but if many teeth are involved, we will use an outside laboratory to assist in restoring a patient’s beautiful new smile.

Restorative Services

Most people eventually need some form of restorative dental care. Our advanced restorative dental services help increase the function and strength of your teeth when damage has occurred.

Bridges

Dental bridges are supported by natural teeth or implants and bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and a connector in between. These false teeth are called pontics and can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials. Some bridges toward the front of the mouth can be made in a single visit using our CAD/CAM technology.

Crowns & Inlays

Even the strongest teeth can sometimes break under pressure. By capping or, if needed, completely covering severely damaged, discolored, chipped or cracked teeth, dental crowns can restore their shape, size, strength and appearance. Dental crowns can also do everything from keeping teeth weakened by decay from coming apart to holding bridges in place. Unlike many dentists, we can restore your tooth with a permanent porcelain restoration IN ONE VISIT. Using the latest in CAD/CAM technology, our CEREC will use digital imaging to create a virtual restoration. Following the imaging process, you can relax as our milling unit transforms a solid pressed ceramic block into a gorgeous crown in just minutes.

Implants

One of the newest solutions to the age-old problem of missing teeth, dental implants are durable enough to last a lifetime. They are placed into the bone, then restored to replace lost teeth or retain loose dentures. Dr. Ramsbottom will assess the area requiring an implant and refer you to a specialist for implant placement. After healing, our team will restore the implant with an abutment and crown.

General Services

Along with good brushing and flossing habits at home, our regular checkups are, the best way to maintain your dental health and prevent more severe issues in the future. But, ultimately, no one can predict what age and genetics have in store, so it’s nice to know that should problems arise, we’re equipped offer a comprehensive range of general dental services to get you and your teeth back to health as quickly and gently as possible.

Dental Cleaning

Having a professional dental cleaning once every six months can improve your appearance, your breath – even your overall health. Recent studies seem to suggest a link between poor oral hygiene and an increased risk of heart attack and strokes. By removing plaque before it hardens into tartar and irritates and infects your gum tissue, we can help keep you and your teeth healthy. Once we thoroughly clean and floss your teeth, we’ll polish them to restore their natural luster.

Dental Exams

By examining your teeth once every three to six months as per the American Dental Association’s® recommendation, we can identify and treat potential trouble spots before they become serious problems. We perform a thorough examination, evaluating the health of your teeth and gums. Following this, an oral cancer screening is performed to check for any abnormalities in the oral cavity. We then review any findings with you and the options needed to return you to excellent oral health.

Dentures

Self-conscious about wearing dentures? Don’t be. Our dentures look and feel so natural, the only thing people will see is a winning smile. Custom designed to match your appearance as well as your bite, they’re protected by exceptionally long warranties. With so many sensibly priced styles, shades and materials to choose from, we’re sure to find a solution that fits your budget as comfortably as our dentures fit you.

Extractions

Have a tooth that needs to be taken out? We can remove it, then provide a detailed series of steps for you to follow to speed up the healing process.

Fillings

If you don’t brush, floss and see your dentist regularly, tooth decay can set in and you could wind up with a cavity. We offer resin tooth-colored fillings that not only look and feel better, but also bond to the tooth to make it stronger.

Mouth Guards

Our practice is committed to the local sports teams of Madison County. Call our office for pricing regarding custom mouth guards to protect those pearly whites during the game.

Root Canals

In the most severe cases, the plaque that causes tooth decay eats its way through the enamel that forms the outer layer of your tooth and attacks the soft core of tissue inside known as the pulp. If that happens, you may need a root canal to save the tooth. After the infected pulp is removed, the pulp chamber and root canals are cleaned, shaped and sealed using the latest system called EndoVac. EndoVac creates a powerful current force to pump disinfecting irrigants throughout the entire root canal system, so pain-inducing bacteria are destroyed more quickly and effectively. It is the only system of its kind in the world and is clinically proven to remove more bacteria than traditional methods alone. This ensures a longer-lasting treatment for the tooth and lowers the incidence of recurrent infections. Following the root canal procedure, a crown will need to be placed to keep the tooth from fracturing with time. With regular checkups and proper care, your restored tooth should last for the rest of your life.
